Coins Europe

Imagine you’re traveling to Europe. Do you know how to use euros? What coins will you use to pay when you shop? Find out with our online euro coins.

Our virtual Europe coins make it fun to learn about money from around the world. The online coins look similar to real-life euros. Use the coins by clicking, dragging, and dropping them onto the canvas. Then, add numbers to show the value of the coins. You can add notes, create groups, or draw pictures with the pencil tool. Erase your notes using the eraser tool. Clear the canvas using the trash can tool.

It’s easy to use our online Europe coins for learning. Here’s how:

  • Write a quantity in numbers on the canvas. Ask students to match the number with Europe coins.
  • Ask students to add 5 or more coins to the canvas. Then, have students express the value in numbers.
  • Have students compare the values of Europe coins to coins from other countries. For example, there is 2 cent euro. Is there a 2 cent coin in the United States?
  • Have students practice giving correct change for payments. For example, have students pretend to pay for an item that costs 1.35 with a 2 euro coin. Then, ask students to give the correct change.

Coins Canada

How many loonies and toonies do you have? And how much are they worth? When children learn the value of Canadian coins, children also learn about math. Get ready to visit Canada and spend some Canadian coins!

With these virtual Canada coins, students can learn to identify each coin and its value. Canadian coins include $2, $1, 25 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, and 1 cent coins. Drag the coins onto the working area. You can drag more than one coin into the space. Each coin matches the color and size of real coins, helping students recognize what they see in the real world. After adding coins, you can also add numbers, dollar, and cent symbols to the workspace. Write on the workspace using the pencil tool. Erase your writing using the eraser tool. Clear the board using the trashcan button.

Use the interactive Canada coins to teach the value of coins, addition, subtraction, and more. Give these activities a try:

  • Ask students how many ways they can form $5 using the coins.
  • Show the virtual Canada coins tool on the board and drag coins onto the workspace. Ask students to add them all up. Then, have students write their answers on a whiteboard or piece of paper and hold up their answers.
  • Give students a list of items with prices. Ask students to calculate transactions for each item they’d like to buy. For example, if they’d like to buy a pencil for 37 cents, the student might pay 40 cents and get 3 cents in change in pennies.
